Alfred R. Cowley, 92, of Logansport, passed from this earthly life into the presence of His Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.  He loved the Lord and was a faithful prayer warrior for his family and friends.

Born June 15, 1922 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Alfred R. and Lavina (Bull) Cowley.  On October 21, 1950 in Flint, Michigan he married Kathleen M. Chapin, who preceded him in death on January 17, 2010.

Al retired in 1981 from Coca-Cola after 34 years of service. He was a World War 2 United States Army Veteran and a member of New Life Alliance Church in Logansport.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn  (Mark) Slusser, Logansport; two sons, Richard  (Anne) Cowley, Brandon, MS; Dr. Dennis (Sara) Cowley, Winamac, IN (now serving with Baptist Haiti Mission in Haiti); grandchildren, Nelson Slusser, LaPorte, IN; Sarah (David) Carron, Springfield, IL; Kayla Slusser; Paul Short, both of Logansport; Donna (Tim) Bell, Brandon, MS; Mandy (Derek) Letort, Biloxi, MS; Cindy (Josh) Fuller, Brandon, MS; Andrea (John) Fenchak, Indianapolis, IN; Austin (Nicole) Cowley, Monticello, IN; Allison (Pat) Hogan, Indian Trail, NC; Erika (Travis) Schunk, Clare, MI; Michael White, Fort Wayne, IN; great grandchildren; Kale Fenchak; McCoy Schunk; Shaun Cowley; Blake Bell; Kyle Bell; Susan Letort; Taylor Fuller; Macey Taylor; one sister, Lois Atwood, Ft. Collins, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Florence Crist, Irene Dewald, and Nelle Stewart.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Halterman officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the Baptist Haiti Mission at 118 Courtland, Rockford, MI 46931.
