Billy Joe Alter

Billy Joe Alter, 79, of Macy, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo.

He was born on July 28, 1936 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Ray and Iretha (Melling) Alter.  On February 8, 1989 in Nashville, Tennessee he married Doris A. Stinson who survives.

Billy worked for Delco for 32 years and retired from there in 1988.  He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, camping, wintering in Florida and vacation trips with his family.

Surviving along with his wife Doris, is a daughter, Debra (Peter) Hodgen, Frankfort; two sons, Randy Alter, Fort Wayne; Alva Ray Alter, Logansport; two step daughters, Cynthia (Brian) Culbertson, Camden; Alice (Mark) Holdren, Lake Wells, FL; step son, Cliff (Sue) Stinson, Sebring, FL; three brothers, Charlie (Peggy) Alter, Kokomo; Phil Alter and companion Margaret, Macy; Mike Alter; sister, Joyce (Larry) Huffer, Peru; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 in the Gundrum Funeral Home located at 1603 East Broadway in Logansport. There will be no service.
