Carolyn Speir

Carolyn Sue Speir, 76, of Logansport, passed away Friday May 12, 2017 at 4:32 PM in her residence.

Born March 24, 1941 in Logansport to the late Ralph H. and Katherine A. “Kistler” Beckley. On April 11, 1986 in Cutler, IN she married Earl Allen Speir who survives.

Carolyn retired as a QMA from the Logansport State Hospital and had also worked for GRITS of Punta Gorda, FL.

She enjoyed sewing, crafts, flowers, painting, shopping and spending time with her family and also her dogs.

Survivors along with her husband Earl are four daughters, Jeanette (John) Holle, Logansport; Janet (Dale) Wescott, Canton, GA; Julie Bender, Logansport; Judy Kelley and Amy Thatcher, Delphi; one sister, Jane (Carol) Pullen, Cutler; five grandchildren, Ashley Bender, Logansport; Andrew Brubaker, Muncie; Zachary (Abby) Brubaker, Witchita, KS; Douglas Bender, Fort Wayne; and Ryan Wescott, Canton, GA.

One brother, Clarence Beckley and one step son, Jeffrey Earl Speir, preceded in death.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday May 16, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Gross officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park cemetery.

A visitation will be held from noon until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
