Debra Ide

Debra Jean Ide, 89, of Winona Lake, and formerly of Logansport, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at 9:35 PM on her birthday at Grace Village Health Care of Winona Lake.

Born November 21, 1925 in Cass County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edwin and Edna (Herring) Hammontree. On April 21, 1946 in Logansport, Indiana she married Carroll "Bud" M. Ide who preceded her in death on June 8, 2013.

Debra was a homemaker, a 1944 graduate of Logansport High School and a member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church, where she had held different offices in her younger years. She was a former professional roller skater, high school cheerleader, and a past Home Demonstration County President. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, purse making and cooking.

Survivors include three sons, Stanley (Sandra) Ide, Warsaw; Steven (Barbara) Ide, Nashville, TN; Terry (Jeanette) Ide, Powder Springs, GA; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Merritt and Morris Hammontree; five sisters, Ruth Griffith, Betty Lynch, Patty Reid, Peggy Hammontree and Joan Chilcoat.

A celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday November, 26. 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Tim McKaig officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Visitation will be from noon until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Webb Chapel United Methodist Church.
