Elinor Vizcarra

Elinor Irene Vizcarra, 78, of Logansport passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on February 5, 1936 in Rensselaer, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Ruby W. (Snow) Shelley.  On August 27, 1962 in Santiago Isabela, Philippines she married Dr. Ruben F. Vizcarra who survives.

Elinor was a retired registered nurse and a homemaker. She attended First United Methodist Church and Cross-Wind United Methodist Church.  Elinor graduated from the Rensselaer High School and then went on to the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette.

Surviving along with her husband is a son, Gavin (Lori) Vizcarra, Logansport; daughter, Alisa Vizcarra, Sarasota, FL; brother, Harold Shelley, Warsaw, IN; grandson, Evan Vizcarra, Logansport.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Dewey and two brothers, Art and James Shelley.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Dr. George Plasterer officiating.

A visitation will be held from 4 – 8 pm Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Gundrum Funeral Home and from 12:30 pm until time of services on Saturday also at the funeral home.
