Milo SuttonMarch 13, 1938 ~ February 13, 2017 (age 78)
Milo E. Sutton, 78, formerly of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at his home in Muncie.
Milo was born March 13, 1938, in Logansport to the late Wayne and Fern (Morts) Sutton. Milo graduated from Metea High School in 1956. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at Exide battery factory, retiring after 30 years.
Milo is survived by his two children, Julie Meares (Jeff) of Muncie and Milo Sutton Jr. (Elizabeth) of Muncie; five grandchildren, Nathan Meares (Jennifer) of Emporia, Kansas, Kyle Meares of Muncie, Brandon Sutton of Muncie, Halie Sutton of Muncie, and Rylee Sutton of Muncie; sister, Carolyn Coffman of Macy; brother, Victor Sutton of Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.
Milo was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Fern Sutton; wife, Ellen (Adair) Sutton; daughter, Carol Ann Sutton; and brothers, Fred Sutton, Ed Sutton and Larry Sutton.
Milo was an avid euchre player and enjoyed playing several times a week. He also spent his mornings drinking coffee at Mac's restaurant with "the guys." He was a member of Muncie South Foursquare Church where he participated in the Active Adults (Seniors) Group and took pride as the groundskeeper, mowing the grass every summer. However, family and friends were the most important part of each day to him, and throughout his life he went out of his way to help his loved ones in whatever way he could. Although he moved to Muncie in 1998 to be closer to his kids and grandkids, his heart was always in Logansport.
A memorial service to celebrate Milo's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at First United Methodist Church, 800 E. Broadway in Logansport.
