Robert Kasting Jr.

Robert W. Kasting Jr., 67, of Logansport, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on March 8, 1947 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Robert W. Kasting Sr. and Ruth Wimmer.  On December 19, 1970 in Hammond, he married Jane A. Hurt who survives.

Robert was a retired fireman at Grissom Air Force Base. He had also worked for K-Mart and Sears.  Robert was a Red Cross volunteer for 37 years. He was a member of CERT and Cass County EMA.  Bob was a Vietnam war veteran and received two purple hearts.

Surviving along with his wife, Jane, is a daughter, Kristin (Adel) Karam, Savannah, GA; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Dahlia, Savannah, and Sierra; sister, Shirley Rae Kelley, Gary,IN; two brothers, John Blackburn, Ozark, AL; and Richard Blackburn, Kingsman, IN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Lyn Kasting; brother, Raymond Kasting; and two sisters, Christina Cox and Betty Turnquist.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Kincaid officiating.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the Cass County Humane Society or the Grissom Air Force Base Museum.
