Darrell Silance

Darrell Edward Silance, 86 of Logansport, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Northwoods Village in Kokomo.

Born on June 27, 1932 in Logansport, he was the son to the late Jerry Edward and Esther (Packard) Silance.  On March 26, 1953 in Lucerne, Indiana he married Doris “Becky” Cook who survives.

Darrell was a Barber and owned Eastgate Barber Shop for 10 years and then Darrell’s Barber Shop for another 15 years. Darrell was a skilled mechanic and learned his craft from his time spent serving in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954.

Darrell enjoyed woodworking, old cars, John Deere Tractors and driving his 1941 John Deere Tractor in the Iron Horse Festival. He is a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church.

Surviving along with his wife Becky, is a son, Terry (Manoush) Silance, Irvine, CA; two daughters, Carole (John) Stumpf, Greenwood, IN; Nita (Mike) Emmerd, Logansport; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoskins, Indianapolis; Emily (Gus) Linde, Greenfield, IN; Andrew, Nicholas and Chloe Silance, Irvine, CA; Sarah Silance and Fiancé Bill Morrow, Logansport; Traci (Rick) Gotshall, Royal Center; Scott Emmerd, Michigan; seven great grandchildren and his beloved cat, Cleo.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Robinson officiating. Burial with full Military Rites will take place in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 also in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
