Dennis "Denny" Gates

Dennis “Denny” R. Gates, 78, of Kewanna, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on September 2 , 1941 in Logansport, he is the son to the late James Warren and Agnes Lucille (Fox) Gates.  On September 26, 1970 in Rochester, Indiana he married Sandy S. Sadler who survives.

Dennis worked as a heavy equipment operator for Union Hall Local 103. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and watching sports while spending winters in Florida.  Denny was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the James F. Talbott V.F.W. Post #1121 and Indianapolis American Legion.

Surviving along with his wife Sandy are two sons, Tracy Alan (Diane) Gates of Swartz Creek, MI; Sean Eric Gates of Kewanna, IN; daughter-in-law, Whitney Gates of Grand Blanc, MI; brother, Charlie (Kim) Gates of Royal Center, IN; three Grandchildren, Kendall Gates, Annika Gates, Tessa Gates; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jobe Robert Gates.

A funeral service for Denny will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor David Sommers officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of services on Thursday.

Military Rites will be provided by the Cass County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the James F. Talbott V.F.W. Post #1121 or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
