Donald W. Putnam, age 83, of Macy and formerly of Logansport, passed away Saturday April 27, 2019 at 10:00 pm in Millers Merry Manor of Logansport.
Born November 21, 1935 in Akron, OH to the late John Grant and Mary N. (Parmeter) Winegardner Putnam. On February 3, 1953 in Logansport he married Etta Mae Miller who survives.
Donald retired from Small Parts and had also worked at Carter Block and after retirement, Walmart. After retiring from Small Parts, Donald moved to Nyona Lake where he loved living on the lake and spending his evenings out in the boat fishing. He was a great fisherman, enjoyed mushroom hunting with his wife of many years, enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing the guitar while singing along to about every possible song. Donald loved the Bee Gees, the movie Grease and knew almost all of the words to all of the songs. Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He welcomed everyone that entered his home.
Survivors include two daughters, Donetta (Tony) Surface, Logansport; Debb (Jim) Ferger, Plymouth; three sons, Don Putnam, Dwaine (Theresa) Putnam and Dennis Putnam, all of Logansport; two brothers, Rich Putnam, Fred Winegardner, both of Logansport; two sisters, Susie (Charlie) DeHaven, Kim (Glen) Vigar, both of Logansport; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, Grant Putnam, Ed Putnam, and step father Robert Winegardner.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on April 30, 2019 at Gundrum Funeral Home with with Pastor David Payton officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville, IN.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of service on Tuesday.
