Dorothy Connell

Dorothy J. Connell, 80 of Muncie, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Signature Healthcare in Muncie.

Born on February 6, 1938 in Whiting, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ann (Katzvinsky) Halajcsik.  On June 26, 1965 in Hammond, Indiana she married Ernest L. Connell who preceded in death on March 22, 2000. Mrs. Connell was a homemaker.

Surviving her is a daughter, Debra A. (Kerry) Knebel, Muncie; son, Ernest J. Connell, Muncie; step grandson, Shawn Knebel, Star City; sister, Ann Marie Ulm, Star City; and a brother, Richard (Pat) Halajcsik, Florida.

She was preceded in death by a step granddaughter, Amanda Knebel, two brothers, Michael Halajcsik Jr. and Jerry Halajcsik and a sister, Mary Ann “Joanie” Bukowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in the All Saints Catholic Church with Father Gustavo Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6 in the Gundrum Funeral Home.
