Edith Spencer

Edith R. Spencer, 81 of Lucerne, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 in her residence.

Born on August 9, 1936 in Buffalo, Indiana, she was the daughter to the late Lynville Bliss and Inez Shell. Edith’s father passed away when she was young and then she was also lovingly raised by her step father, Bill Osborn.  On December 21, 1952 in Logansport, she married Donald DeVon “Don” Spencer who preceded in death on April 26, 2006.

Edith was a farmer’s wife. She had also worked at Alpha’s and Small Parts in Logansport. Edith was a member of Fletcher’s Lake United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her children and their families. She especially enjoyed her “Christmas in July” cookout she put on for her family every year.

Surviving are two sons, Rick Spencer, Lucerne; Bill Spencer, Burlington, MI; two daughters, Vickie (Kenny) Eytcheson, Fulton; Teena (Trace) Bonnell, Kewanna; 11 grandchildren, Rickey Spencer, Rochester; April Spencer, Lucerne; Jacob Spencer, Burlington, MI; Brett Spencer, Logansport; Heather (Bruce) Mills, Brownsburg; Terra Snider, Rossville; Gwin (Jim) Hanna, Rossville; Troy (Jessica) Eytcheson, Fulton; Amber Shoemaker, Logansport; Rachel (Preston) Howard, Peru; Bridgette Bonnell, Kewanna; 34 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Burgess, South Carolina; Judy Osborn, Logansport; brother, Lynville “Junior” Bliss, Peru.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 also in the Funeral Home.
