James Edward “Ed” Kingery, 67 of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Chase Center in Logansport.

Ed was born on May 13, 1950 in Logansport, to the late Robert Thomas and Margaret Louise (Angle) Kingery. On September 7, 1974 in Logansport he married Kathryn “Katey” Stepp who survives.

Ed was a 1968 graduate of Logansport High School. He then went on to obtain his Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He began working at Delco in August of 1973 and retired from Delphi (Delco) in September of 2008 after 35 years working the job he loved.

Ed was a former member of Faith United Methodist and current member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church. He was a regular blood donor and a faithful Bible reader.  Ed coached travel soccer teams for several years and helped with Upward Soccer at the Church.

He was the proud father of Kyle, Joel (Jackie), Jared (Elizabeth) and Derek (Faith); proud grandfather of Hailey, Gavin, Alexandra, Dillon, Delaney, Harper and Hayden who is expected soon.

Other survivors including his wife Katey, are his sister, Marcia (Marlin) Fingerle, Laketon, IN; brother, Steven (Marilyn) Kingery, Elida, OH; brother-in-laws, Louis (Ruth Ann) Stepp and James Albrecht, all of Logansport; seven nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a sister-in-law, Kathy Stepp Albrecht.

A celebration of life open house will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Cross Wind United Methodist Church, 616 North State Road 25, Logansport, Indiana.

Private family burial will be held in the Center Cemetery near Young America, IN.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to HDSA (Huntington’s Disease Society of America) or the Emmaus Mission Center in Logansport.
