Beverly J. Smith

Beverly Jane Smith, 85, of Logansport, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth, IN.

Born on June 16, 1938, in Kewanna, Indiana, Beverly is the daughter of the late Forrest G. and Dolores (Woolington) LaMunion.  On June 27, 1987, in Logansport, she married Garth D. Smith who preceded in death on January 20, 2013.

Beverly was a former CNA in nursing services. She had also worked at K-Mart and Harris Upholstery. Beverly grew up in Tyner, Indiana and graduated from Tyner High School. She enjoyed traveling, doing puzzles and crocheting.

Beverly is survived by two sons, Jay W. (Vickie) Stratton of Logansport, IN; Michael (Janet) Stratton of Logansport, IN; daughter, Loretta Carey of Logansport, IN; two sisters, Diana Smith of Plymouth, IN; Carol Huebner of San Antonio, TX; three brothers, Norman (Carla) LaMunion of Edwardsburg, MI; Roger LaMunion of Argos, IN; Dennis (Patricia) LaMunion of Grovertown, IN; 6 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

Beverly was preceded in death by a Stepdaughter, Vicky Coleman, two sisters, Norma Joyce Jennings and Shirley Richardson; and a brother, Richard Earl LaMunion.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Aaron Gross officiating.  A burial will follow in the Kewanna Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday, also in the funeral home.
