Dan Edward Fouts, 62 of Galveston, passed away after a 3-year fight with Leukemia, on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on November 5, 1955 in LaGrange, Illinois, he was the son of the late Tom C. and Eva L. (Sibbitt) Fouts.  On April 2, 1977 in Walton, Indiana he married Beth A. Maughmer who survives.

Dan owned and operated Dan Fouts Construction. He also worked along side his father “Captain Stubby” as “Captain Stubby Jr.” and was a member of the SAG-AFTRA, an organization dedicated to actors, radio hosts and other media professionals.

Dan was a people person, he loved to make people laugh and wasted no time forming new friendships with people he came in contact with. This was extremely evident in his last days with the support from nurses, doctors, and transport drivers who he had met during his 3-year battle with cancer.

Dan’s daughters, Amy and Lisa, along with his grandsons, were the joy of his life. He also loved fireworks, fishing, shooting guns, and flipping houses.

Surviving along with his wife, Beth, are two daughters, Amy (Joey) Phillips, Camden; Lisa Fouts, Galveston; grandsons, Sylas Rolls and Brann Phillips; sister, Connie (Tom) Livingston, LaGrange, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Tom L. Fouts of Delphi.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital or the Cass County Humane Society.
