Darl Raymond Baker, 71, Logansport, died at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 15, 1935, in Lewisburg, to Jesse Baker and Victoria Opal Fisher. He married Patricia A. Pifer on Sept. 21, 1957, in Logansport.
He was a motor route driver for the Pharos Tribune for over 16 years, and he had also retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1990 after 32 years. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3790, member of American Legion Post #60, and member of Eagles Lodge #323.
Darl was a Korean War Veteran serving as a Sargeant in the Air-Force. Darl also loved cowboy movies.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. Baker, Logansport; son, Ronald Baker and wife Deanna, Burlington; daughter, Cheryl Baker,
Logansport; sister, Carol McMaken, Butler; grandchildren,
Dawn Smith and husband Dan, Kokomo, and Katelynn Baker, Burlington; stepgrandchildren, Chris Martin, Dian Martin, and Heather Martin, all of Kokomo; two great-grandchildren, Katrina and Aurora Smith, Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Baker; two sisters,
Mary Price and Jesse Louise Baker; and one son, Raymond Baker.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Gundrum Funeral Home, Loganpsort, with the Rev. William Art Maloney officiating. Burial will be in McNeely Cemetery, Lewisburg, with full military graveside rites.
