Ellen was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gene Horn, on November 9, 1952, in Lake Bruce, IN. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love and partnership until Gene's passing on October 1, 2016. Ellen and Gene were the dynamic duo behind the success of Horn Development and County Line Landfill in Fulton County, IN.
Her legacy lives on through her daughters: Ruth (Rob) Baker of Logansport, IN; Karen (John) Glaser of San Antonio, TX; and Lois (Jack) Shoup of Delphi, IN. Ellen was a cherished grandmother to 12 grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to several great-grandchildren.
In her professional life, Ellen served as the Former Secretary and Treasurer for Horn Development and County Line Landfill. Her dedication and acumen were instrumental in the growth and prosperity of these ventures. Ellen's contributions extended beyond the workplace; she was also a proud member of the Rochester Order of the Eastern Star.
Ellen's life was marked by strength and resilience even in the face of adversity. She faced the loss of her son Dale Horn alongside her husband Gene and several siblings: Lucille Overmyer, Olive Master, Norma Master, Lulu Belle Walker; as well as brother Willard Peters.
The services to honor Ellen's life will take place at Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport on April 13th, 2024. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Tim Minnick. Subsequently, Ellen will be laid to rest at Metea Cemetery in Metea, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucerne Zion Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
