Herbert D. Bowman

Herbert D. Bowman, 94, of New Waverly, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.

Born on May 29, 1929, Herbert is the son of the late Samuel Phillip and Mildred (Cart) Bowman.  On October 19, 1952, in Waldron, Indiana, he married Mary Ann Clapp who preceded in death on July 24, 2023.

Herbert was a carpenter, a 1947 graduate of New Waverly High School and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Herbert was a Korean War Army Veteran, he also served his local community as a volunteer fire fighter.

Surviving Herbert is a daughter, Susan E. Reynolds of New Waverly, IN; one granddaughter, Chelsea (Joshua) Cates of Logansport, IN,; two grandsons, Jared (Lendzi) Wiseley of New Waverly, IN; Jackson (Angela Miller) Wiseley of Logansport, IN; six great-granddaughters, Alexis Gotshall, Sophia Cates, Sailor Cates, Harper Wiseley, Hadlee Wiseley, Hayleigh Wiseley; two great grandsons, Beau Wiseley, Cash Wiseley; two brothers, Gerald Bowman of Peru, IN, Richard (Sondra) Bowman of Logansport, IN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Bowman, son, Herbert M. Bowman, grandson, Joel M. Bowman, one sister, nine brothers, and a son in law, Rick Reynolds.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Jared Wiseley officiating.  A burial with full military rites will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
