James Frederick Mayhill

James Frederick Mayhill, age 89, of Logansport, passed away Thursday June 26, 2025, in Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born July 1, 1935, in Cass County, IN he was the son of the late Frederick Walter and Lottie Gertrude (Bussard) Mayhill. On July 4, 1954, in Anoka, IN he married Ruth Esther (Alber) who survives.

Jim was a retired farmer. He had also worked for the Indiana State Highway Dept., the railroad, Herd Seeder and was a former bus driver for Southeastern School Corp.. Jim was a faithful member of Anoka Community Church.

Survivors, including his wife Ruth, are one daughter, Laura Ruth (Charlayne Streeter) Burgan, Idaho; three sons, David James (Amy Barnes) Mayhill, Logansport; Jon A. (Melanie) Mayhill, Logansport; Joseph L. (Joy) Mayhill, Walton; one brother, Robert A. Mayhill, Ohio; 8 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren, 1-great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death are one son, Charles Mayhill and one sister, Patricia Siems

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4 pm until the time of services at the church on Monday.

A celebration of life will start promptly at 6:00 pm Monday June 30, 2025, in the Anoka Community Church with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. A private burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
