Loring Floyd ‘Mac’ McKenzie

Services for Loring Floyd “Mac” McKenzie, 84, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo.

Born Oct. 20, 1922, in St. Joseph County, he was the son of Floyd and Ethel Culliton McKenzie. He was married May 1, 1982, in Martinsville, to Jennie L. Ferguson, who survives.

Mac retired in 1988 from Dale Winters Construction. He also worked as the department foreman for Wolf Construction.

Mac was a member of American Legion Post 60 and Local 615 Carpenters Union.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.

He enjoyed collecting antique carpenter tools and was a member of the Midwest Tool Collectors Association.

Also surviving are one daughter, Diana L. Barr and her husband, Leroy, Cedar City, Utah; one son, Edward McKenzie, Logansport; stepson, Richard Enyart, Logansport; one sister, Nornetta Arven and her husband, Dean, Logansport; 12 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

One grandchild preceded in death.

The Rev. William Art Maloney will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military graveside rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
