Lynne E. Stephenson

     Lynne E. Stephenson, 66, Peru, Indiana, died in Ft. Wayne on June 10, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William R. and Lucille B. (Spitznogle) Stephenson and was one of eight siblings.

      She attended St. Joseph Catholic grade school and graduated from Lewis Cass Jr-Sr High School, class of 1977. She attended Ivy Tech.

      She worked at National Bank of Logansport for several years and then began her career with the US Postal Service working as a letter carrier mainly in Peru for 31 years. She resided in Peru most of her adult life and was very active in the B.P.O. Elks #365 there.

      From an early age, Lynne was an avid fan of Johnny Cash. She greatly enjoyed her extended family.

      She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Mary E. Stephenson, and a brother Michael E. Stephenson. She is survived by her siblings George W. Stephenson (Monica), Lou A. Stephenson (Peg), Charles P. Stephenson (Kelly), Joyce E. Muschong (Nicholas), Billie L. Stephenson, and a bonus-sister, Claudia Delaney Benn. 

     She was survived by nieces and nephews: Callie Query, Samual Query, Andrew Stephenson, Benjamin Stephenson, Phillip Stephenson, Jared Stephenson, Talee Hardin, Nicholas Stephenson, Shae Lantz, Aaron Stephenson, Lauren Williams, Nicholas Muschong III, and Henry Vinson, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.

      There will be no public service, but a Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will be scheduled at a later date. 

     Donations in Lynne’s honor may be made to the Lewis Cass Alumni Association, care of Cass County Community Foundation, or to any favorite charity.
