Services for Martha L. Eber, 89, formerly of Rochester, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Gundrum Funeral Home.

She died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007, in WoodBridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born Sept. 27, 1917, in North Manchester, she was the daughter of Oscar Crill and Cora Stocker. She was married May 1, 1938, in Donaldson, to Paul A. Eber, who preceded in death Dec. 10, 1998.

Mrs. Eber was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Fulton Baptist Temple, where she was active in the church choir and various youth fellowship activities.

She was a lady of many talents. She was an avid artist and did oil paintings, china plates, pins, pendants and figurines. She also poured and painted porcelain dolls. Her drawing of the Haimbaugh Round Barn was chosen to be displayed on the first memorabilia plate in 1971, and was also selected for the first custom Rochester Telephone Company directory cover in 1992.

Martha was an excellent cook and was well known for her delicious cakes, pies, cookies and her homemade bread. She also made and decorated wedding cakes.

Martha and Paul spent most of their life on their farm in Liberty Township, Fulton County, before moving to Rochester in 1991. Martha and her late husband, Paul, were the proud parents of two sons and two daughters often referred to as the four-B’s.

Surviving are two daughters, Bev Gundrum and her husband, Tom, Logansport, and Bonnie Mikesell and her husband, Larry, Rochester; two sons, Bob Eber and his wife, Mary Jane, and Bill Eber and his wife, Laura, all of Rochester; one sister, Mable Sullivan, Twelve Mile; 10 grandchildren, Tonya Smith and her husband, Chris, Logansport, Lucinda Mikesell, Mount Washington, Ky., Becky Schram and her husband, Peter, Atlanta, Corrina Miller and her husband, Calvin, West Point, Brenda Eber and Brian Eber and his wife, Hope, all of Rochester, Tabatha Garcia, Abilene, Texas, and Ray Eber and his wife, Kit, Twelve Mile, Rusty Newby and his wife, Logan, Lucerne, Kalea Brouyette and her husband, Kerry, Rochester; and great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kevin Smith, Logansport, Zachary and Nicole Spencer, and Lauren and Ashlee Schram, all of Atlanta, Nash Miller, West Point, Branson Eber, Brookston, Destinee, Nathaniel and Savanna Garcia, Abilene, Texas, and Kaden Brouyette, Rochester.

Four brothers, Lloyd, Paul, Harold and her twin brother Wayne, preceded in death.

Pastor Bruce Russell will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery, Rochester.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton Baptist Temple.
