Michael E. Laird (W9LME)

Michael E. Laird, (W9LME), 74, of Logansport, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Logansport.

Born on June 24, 1949, in Logansport, Mike is the son of the late Robert Owen and Mary Jane (Chambers) Laird.  Mike was a 1967 graduate of Logansport High School. On September 4, 1971, in Indianapolis, Michael married Pamela A. Matthus who survives. They moved to Logansport in 1973 to draw the plat books for Cass County, then worked for Markley Abstract Company.

Mike was the owner of Laird Realty LLC and a licensed realtor/broker. He was a HAM radio operator (W9LME) and former President of the Cass County Amateur Radio Club. Mike also served on the Utility Service Board from 1980-1984 and 2016-2020. He was also a former Republican Precinct Committeeman. 

Mike coached Pixie League and 4-Star Girls Softball. He was also a faithful blood donor for the American Red Cross. 

Surviving Mike, along with his wife Pam, are two daughters, Michelle A. (Phill) Dials of Logansport; Melissa D. Laird of Indianapolis; son, Michael D. (Brenda Warner) Laird of Logansport; sister, Ruth E. Laird of Overland Park, Kansas.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Father Clark Miller officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until the time of service on Thursday.
