Peggy Sue McCullough, 72, of Logansport, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born on June 28, 1947 in North Manchester, Indiana, she is the daughter to the late Howard and Marie (Gilland) Day. On October 11, 1980 in Logansport, she married Earl McCullough who survives.
Peggy began her healthcare career as one of the original EMT’s at Memorial Hospital. She then attended Nursing School and became a LPN who worked at Memorial Hospital for 20 years.
Peggy volunteered her EMT skills annually at the Indianapolis 500. She enjoyed caring for people and became known in the neighborhood as “Nurse Peggy” when someone got hurt.
Surviving along with her husband Earl are five sons, Joseph (Angela) Parker of AL, Richard McCullough of Logansport, IN, Jeff (Janice) McCullough of Terre Haute, IN, Kent (Holly) McCullough of South Whitley, IN, Matthew (Sarah) McCullough of Nashville, TN; four daughters, Theresa McCullough of Logansport, IN, Christy (Jeff) Gum of Terre Haute, IN, Cathy McCullough of Logansport, IN, Brittani (Kevin Brummitt) McCullough of Logansport, IN; seven granddaughters, Robin (Charles) Altman, Erika Parker, Briana McCullough, Madison Gundrum, Skye McCullough, Jade McCullough, Jennifer Walker; six grandsons, Jacob (Taylor) Grigsby, Blake Grigsby, Mac Collins, Jeffery Turner, Treiton Calloway, Ryan Pimental; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Esta Alice (Carl) Good of North Manchester, IN, Phyllis Vehlecamp of North Manchester, IN, Lolitta Causey, AZ; brother, Morris (Judy) Day of North Manchester, IN; and a daughter in law , Missy Field, Logansport.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
A private service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Aaron Gross officiating. Burial will follow the service at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
