Services for Robert J. (Bob) Moore, age 79, of Logansport, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Gundrum Funeral Home.

He died at 11: 15 P.M. Friday, March 9, 2007 at Millers Merry Manor .

Born September 22, 1927, in Cass County, he was the son of Earl L. and Ruby Fitzer Moore. On December 24, 1949, he was married to Marilyn A. Bubel, who survives.

Mr. Moore had lived in the Clymers, IN area his entire life. He was a 1945 graduate of Logansport High School and a 1950 graduate of Purdue University.

He was a livestock and grain farmer. For a number of years, he maintained a large herd of registered Hampshire hogs and sold breeding stock.

From 1964 to 1988, he worked for the US Dept. of Agriculture as the Cass County ASCS office manager. Along with his regular work, he enjoyed making ASCS displays for the Cass County and Indiana State Fairs and also training new office managers for other counties.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, the Logansport Noon Kiwanis Club, and the Purdue Ag Alumni. In the early 1960s, he served as a member on the Board of Directors for the Cass County Farm Bureau Co-op. During the 1990s, along with farming 100 acres of soybeans and wheat, Bob enjoyed cooking pork chops at church fund raisers, donating lots of cucumbers raised in his garden, and hosting an annual Moore family reunion at France Park.

Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn and by two sons, Jim Moore of Kokomo, and Tom Moore and wife Vicki of Carmi, Illinois. Also, one granddaughter, Angela Bruns and husband Jeremiah and one great grandson, Cameron Michael Bruns, all of Carmi, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Jayne Retzlaw of Rockford Illinois and Marie Leonard of Marshall, Michigan and by one brother, Dr. Earl Moore of Indianapolis.

The Rev. Larry Zehring will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 – 7 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Gundrum Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Miller’s Merry Manor and various in-home caregivers, especially Mary Vaughan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
