Robert D. Tribbett, 75, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Monticello Healthcare.
Born on February 11, 1947, in Logansport, Robert is the son of the late Robert E. and Nellie Louise (Roller) Tribbett. On November 21, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts, he married Anne E. Hansen who survives.
Robert was a graduate of Logansport High School and Butler University where he is was the President of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. After graduating from Butler his first Job was at an Elementary Public School in Indianapolis where he was a teacher for a year. After a discussion with his father, Robert took interest in the grain business.
He started his career in the grain business with Central Soya in Fort Wayne, Indiana, then he accepted a job with Cook Industries in Memphis, TN. This led to jobs with Phillip Brothers/Solomon Brothers in New York. They then sent Robert to Geneva, Switzerland, to head up their International Trade Division. This led him to take a job with Marc Rich in Zug, Switzerland.
Robert has lived many places throughout the years and loved to travel, home to him was in Unteraegeri, Switzerland. He was an avid Notre Dame fan, loved being on the water and anything that had to do with boating or fishing. Robert lived a very full life and will be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Robert along with his wife Anne, is a daughter, Jessica Louise Tribbett of New York, NY; a brother Donald J. Tribbett of Logansport; a niece, Kristen Alkire of Denver, CO and two nephews, Matthew Tribbett of Denver, CO; David Tribbett of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Daniel Tribbett.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:30 PM on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Monday.
