Dale Downs

Dale D. Downs, 76, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Chase Center in Logansport.

Born on January 6, 1944 in Sheridan, Indiana, he is the son to the late James M. and Virginia (Richardson) Downs.  On November 15, 1969 Dale married  Elvyon Jackson who preceded him in death on February 2, 2008.

Dales formerly worked for Slusser's Green Thumb.

Surviving  is a step son, Ed (Sandy) Merrill of Logansport; three grandchildren, Kayla (Ronnie) Hayden, Logansport; Anthony (Wendy) Merrill, Rochester; and Matthew Merrill, Logansport; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Downs, Orlando, FL; two sisters, Joyce Downs, Orlando, FL; and Janet Vaughn, Logansport.

He was preceded in death by a step son, Orville “Jim” Merrill Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday July 22, 2020 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. A private family gathering will be held at Gundrum Funeral Home.
