Doris Demerly

Doris M. Demerly, 88 of Logansport, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on July 22, 1933, in Carroll County, IN, she is the daughter to the late James Orton and Florence Lydia (Harshman) Magart.  On May 21, 1953, in Junction City, Kansas, she married William “Bill” E. Demerly who preceded in death on October 9, 2017.

Doris was a 1951 graduate of Burlington High School. She had previously worked at the H.W. Gossard Company and then retired from Controls Inc. Along with her husband Bill, Doris loved attending Logansport Berries athletic events.

Surviving Doris is a daughter, Deb (Sam) Tocco of Logansport; three grandsons, Tony Tocco; Troy Tocco, both of Tampa, FL; Trent (Heather) Tocco of Logansport; granddaughter, Trisha (Grant) Simpson of Chapin, SC; 10 great grandchildren, Michael Tocco, Addisyn Tocco, Berkley Tocco, Cole Tocco, Jackson Simpson, Bronson Simpson and Garrison Simpson, Shay Tocco and one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Sue Demerly; four brothers and two sisters.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating. Burial will follow in Mt Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.
