Elizabeth Fissel

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Fissel, 93, of Logansport, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 in her residence.

Born on April 7, 1927 in Wolcott, IN, she is the daughter to the late McKindley D. and June (Clowry) Cole.  In 1946 she married Robert Van Meter who preceded in death.  On June 13, 1970 in Logansport, she married Allen E. “Gene” Fissel who preceded in death on May 5, 2002.

Betty was a realtor for 21 years, she had also helped in the office at Fissel Electric. She was a member of Miami Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Teresa “Terry” Sibbitt of Logansport; one son, Jeffrey (Melissa Rush) Fissel of Logansport; step daughter, Linda (Mel) Price of Twelve Mile; two step sons, Larry Fissel of Whitmore Lake, MI; Stephen (Beverly) Fissel of Seattle, WA; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Pamela S. Langley, DeEtta Schrum; two brothers, Robert and Larry Cole, and two grandchildren, Sheila Ann Collier and Rob Rude.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday August 26, 2020 at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Horace Smith officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 pm until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
