Marjorie Mae Ingmire, 99, of Logansport, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Woodbridge Health Campus, surrounded by her loving family.

Marjorie was born to Bryan and Hazel (Sims) Brock on May 4, 1922, in Stafford, Kansas.

She was married on August 24, 1947, to Ted Ingmire who preceded in death on November 14, 1996.

Surviving are her children Earl (Angie) Ingmire, Logansport; Connie Ingmire (Jimmy Langford), Logansport; and Debra (Norman) Rivard, Logansport. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Christy (Sean) Moore, Logansport; Scott Ingmire, Logansport; Rachel (Jason) Cochran, Noblesville, IN; Adam Rivard, Logansport; Samuel (Meghan) Rivard, Westfield, IN; step-granddaughter Mary (Shawn) Moffit, Cumming, GA; Aaron (Jeanette) Green and Patrick Green. Also fifteen great-grandchildren, Madison and Brody Moore; Duke, Crew, Ford and Knox Cochran; Taryn Rivard; Anna and Micah Rivard, Riley Goad; step great-grandchildren Tayler, Will and Jackson Moffit; Tehya Green and Aaron Rivers. Also surviving is one brother, Rex Brock, Anderson, IN.

Preceding her in death were her parents Bryan and Hazel and brothers Lou, Bryan, Billie Rae, and Harold Brock.

Marjorie grew up in rural Kansas with four brothers who all played football. Her brothers Lou and Rex went on to play at Purdue University. Lou played for the Green Bay Packers and is in the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Marjorie loved sports and was the only girl on a boys’ softball team when she was in high school. She attended her brothers’ football games and was an avid Purdue and Green Bay Packers fan throughout her life.

Marjorie graduated from Stafford High School and attended business college in Kansas. She became a linotype operator for the Stafford newspaper and when she and Ted met in Delphi, Indiana, he went to the editor of the Pharos Tribune and told him where he could find a good linotype operator. Marge was offered the job and moved to Logansport to begin working for the Pharos Tribune. The rest, as they say, is history.

Marjorie was a member of River of Life Christian Church, formerly Ninth St. Christian Church, and dedicated much of her life working for the church as president of Christian Women’s Fellowship, singing in the choir, cooking for fund-raising and funeral dinners, making noodles and mincemeat to sell, and being the first to organize the free Thanksgiving dinners for the community that became a tradition of the church. Marjorie was also an accomplished seamstress. Besides knitting sweaters, crocheting, and making dresses for her daughters and granddaughters, she made draperies for The Gray Mill and worked for the Mary Dykeman Guild.

Marjorie was also famous for her cookies, especially her sugar cookies, which she gave as a treat to many.
