Nada Vansoest

Nada L. VanSoest, 89, of Logansport, passed away at Millers Merry Manor on Saturday April 11, 2020 at 4:00 am.

Born May 29, 1930 in White County, IN she was the daughter to the late Roy and Mamie J. (Hines) Vernon.

Nada had worked at Long Cliff State Hospital and retired from Switches Inc.  She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church and had  previous memberships at Caley E.U. B. Church, and Life Gate Church. She was a 1948 graduate of Royal Center High School.  Nada was an avid reader and enjoyed games and traveling. She was an accomplished pianist playing for many years at the Caley Church where she would accompany  Melvin on duets.

On June 28, 1953 in Royal Center, Indiana she married Melvin VanSoest who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Greg (Sherry) VanSoest, Logansport; Brian (Terrie) VanSoest, Logansport; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristi) VanSoest, Brownsburg; Scott VanSoest, Monticello; Ryan (Margie) Jones, Lafayette; Erin (Bill) Noakes, Logansport; and five great grandchildren, Ainslee VanSoest, Anniston VanSoest, Gwenevieve Jones, Isabelle Noakes, Gabe Noakes; several nieces and nephews.

Nada is preceded in death by four brothers.

A private gathering and service will be held at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Marshall officiating.

A private burial will be at Thompson Cemetery in Royal Center, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Christian Church or Millers Merry Manor activities fund.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Millers Merry Manor and especially those on the Boulevard who became like family.
